Melissa’s new book *Feel Good*

Image
Hello, Melissa here! Please say hello to my new cookbook… FEEL GOOD :  100 quick and easy recipes to bring a bit of comfort and joy into our kitchens and beyond. Coming 2nd June 2022! FEEL GOOD  is all about exploring how food and cooking makes us feel. Comforted, connected, energised, calmer, grounded, satisfied and soothed and more. I’ve been so excited to share this with you, I’ve been squirreling away on it for the last 2 years and here it is. FEEL GOOD FOOD  is how I’ve long described how I like to cook end eat at home. More and more of us are cooking with both our mental and physical health in mind. So these are my favourite recipes that help me feel supported. Recipes that I turn to when I’m low on energy and want to feel brighter. Recipes that are so easy that they are a joy to cook and make me feel more confident. Food that helps me feel calmer and more grounded and big sharing recipes for when friends come over and I want to spoil them and show them love but also I want to

Jasmine’s Spooky Pumpkin Latte for Halloween

Image
It’s spooky season! It looks like we’ll be staying largely indoors this Halloween, so pumpkin carving will be extra de rigueur this year. I hope you’ll get creative with yours, because the possibilities are endless. One problem with this festive activity though is that it can generate quite a bit of food waste — but I never met a problem I couldn’t fix!!! In the past few years, pumpkin lattes have been as synonymous with autumn as the crunch of fallen leaves and the smell of bonfires. That said, the kind you buy from mainstream coffee shops are full of sugar, additives and of course lots of caffeine. If you’re looking for a gentler alternative to this tasty treat, may I suggest this delicious recipe created one October at my Ayurvedic pop-up café East by West to warm the bellies of customers when they came in from the cold? This is a feel-good recipe that’s warming, lightly spiced and the ultimate comfort “food.” Plus it’s super easy to make and will save you money and plastic waste

Our Hemsley + Hemsley Café at Selfridges Says Goodbye

Image
After 4.5 wonderful years, it’s time to say goodbye to our Hemsley + Hemsley Café at Selfridges. After a turbulent and trying 2020 around the globe, our beloved café will be shutting shop for good on Saturday 31st October. Unfortunately, the continued Covid-19 restrictions have made it no longer possible for a little cafe like ours, along with so many brothers and sisters of ours in the hospitality industry to keep its doors open. We had an amazing run of it (and who knows where we might pop up again!) and want to thank Selfridges and all our friends there for our time together. We are grateful and honoured to have achieved what we have and will miss the cafe, our staff, our customers old and new (bye-bye regulars, you are loved!) and of course the food…THE FOOD!!!! Don’t worry, for those who need one last hit (or indeed to taste for the first time!) you have a few weeks left to get your hands on the delicious dishes from our final ever menu .  When we opened the café at Selfrid
