Jasmine’s 6 Ways to Connect to Nature This Spring

Image
After a long winter season spent indoors, I couldn’t be happier to see the spring in full swing and summer firmly on its way. Spring is a really magical time of year, and an important transition period according to the ancient philosophy of Ayurveda. Spring is the season of new beginnings and growth, easily visible as bulbs start to appear after many months’ rest underground. Thanks to the warmer days and longer evenings, it’s also the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in nature at a time when many would say it’s at its most beautiful, and definitely at its most inspiring. Jasmine’s Simple Soups to Warm The Soul

Oh the weather outside is frightful… But what that does mean is that we get to cosy up in our blankets and slippers with loved ones, and connect with one another around a lovely warming home-cooked dish. What better way to warm up and nurture your digestion than with a good ol’ bowl of soup? Sounds romantic, even fairytale-like in the daily rush of life, but honestly nothing’s easier than a one-pot dish to feed a crowd. Say hello to the favourites that I rely on at this time of year — there’s certainly something for everyone! Cumin Beetroot Soup A ruby red soup I discovered at the COMO Metropolitan Hotel on Park Lane and to which I added cinnamon (by mistake, but it works!!!), this one is a winter warmer if there ever was one, thanks to the earthy beets and fire-starting spices. Winter Sunset Soup With Ginger, Cumin and Rosemary This soup is amazing in the run-up to Christmas, and endlessly adaptable with all the bits you’ve got in the fridge. Super Supper Mung Dal Soup Mung
